The man on the phone was concerned about
bees taking over his hummingbird feeder.
I
think the bees are keeping the hummingbirds away. It’s swarming with bees.
I reassure him that in nature birds
and bees are on the same team. Flowers that attract pollinators don’t cause
turf wars. I ask if he’s allergic to bees or has children who are.
No,
but the feeder is right by the front door and there are lots of bees now.
I suggest that he move the feeder.
